The S26 FE also gets Super Steady with Horizontal Lock, already available on the Galaxy S26 series. The system provides strong video stabilization while keeping the horizon level even when the phone moves or tilts.
Samsung also includes its Nightography technologies for low-light photography and Photo Assist for AI-powered editing. The company is clearly trying to make relatively conservative camera hardware more capable through software processing.

At €799, we’re no longer talking about a truly affordable smartphone. Instead, the S26 FE feels more like a slightly cheaper entry point into Samsung’s premium Galaxy S ecosystem. The promotions that traditionally accompany Samsung phones could quickly improve its value proposition, but the official price inevitably weakens the “great deal” appeal once associated with FE models.
My take on the Galaxy S26 FE
Samsung hasn’t tried to impress with a hardware revolution. The Galaxy S26 FE is primarily a software-driven smartphone. The Exynos 2500, One UI 9, seven years of updates and premium camera features are its strongest arguments.
I think the approach makes sense, but it also shows how the smartphone market is changing. Improvements no longer have to come from new sensors or bigger numbers. AI and computational processing are becoming an increasingly important part of the experience.
The problem remains the price. €799 for 128GB is a lot for a device that is supposed to be the sensible alternative to Samsung’s regular Galaxy S phones. The S26 FE could become considerably more attractive once the first discounts arrive.
